multi media on stonehenge paper. 8 by 8in... i'm slowly scaling up!* haha.

i was experimenting with black gess marks... don't really think they were much of a success, so i probably won't be using them again any time soon.

Hmm. I think that if you worked the black gesso marks into the background they would add a lot of depth and contrast.

In this picture it gives me a nice point of focus. :clap:

I see a dude sitting on a rock near a shrubbery of some sort dipping his feet in a black pond. Yup. Oh, and he has a crazy cool pony tail blowing in the wind.

Hmm, the feeling I get with this one is something that I may not want to comment on. :blush: But as per usual, I like your work. :D

I hope you find a medium that will give you a bit more pleasure, so you can move on from this medium and feel ok with having experimented with it. :)

is it a good feeling... nausea, indigestion.. lol. thanks Terry! i'm gonna continue to experiment with multi media and new materials. and looking at what works. what i won't be getting rid of though is the oil pastel.. they're my favorite drawing medium.

I've never really done oil pastels... I think once I may have dabbled, but no farther then that. I have the chalk pastels, and sometimes feel like doing something in that medium, but not often.

i love chalk pastel too... though i prefer nupastel.. they're not as dusty. i'd love to see you do something.

oh, i have a question.. what do think of a food jam! where we all draw/paint/create different sorts/types of food.. all in the spirit of exploring new media and imagery. a friend and i were thinking of doing something like that... we could even have prizes for like 'most delicious'.. or 'least appetizing' etc.. i'd probably donate some subscriptions and features too.

what do you think?

Yeah, I think somewhere I have a fleshtone set of nupastels. Plus when I bought my new drawing set last month, it included some flesh colored "leads" so I may give that a try on some matte board.

I could be enticed to do something like a food jam... only because I've not done anything food related in a long time! And it could get me into a different medium as well. :D

I say go for it, and I would participate!
